The Cinch Breakaway Roping Championships Spring Thaw in Loveland, Colorado delivered a full day of competition as ropers from multiple classifications competed for cash, buckles, and fast times.
The day started with the Total Feeds, Inc. Open, where Jessie Miller put together an 11.42 on 3 to take the win and $1,390. Gracyn Kummer followed with an 11.64 on 3, earning $930.
Rayna Billingsley set the pace early with the fast time of Round 1 at 2.79 and followed it up with the fast time of Round 2 at 2.90. In the Short Go, Jami Garson posted a 2.58, the fastest run of the final round.
The day continued with the #5 Cinch Slide, where Dot Veatch won the roping with an 11.07 on three, earning $1,460. Jessie Miller added another strong finish, taking second with a 12.22 on three for $980.
Round fast times included Jami Garson with a 3.08 in Round 1, Olivia Lay with a 2.42 in Round 2, and Libby Winchell with the Short Go fast time of 4.14.
The #1 Smarty Shootout followed, with Harper James coming out on top.
Next up was the Youth 12 & Under Breakaway showcasing the future of the sport, with Carter Johnston earning the championship buckle.
In the #2 American Hat Company Shootout, Harper Schneider claimed the buckle with a 10.01 on three to take the win and $180. Schneider also recorded the fast time in Round 1 with a 3.22, while Libbie Tharp set the Round 2 fast time with a 3.10. Alyssa Salazar posted the Short Go fast time at 2.25.
The final roping of the day was the #3 Priefert Handicap, where Dot Veatch added another win to the day with an 8.69 on 3, earning $860. In the Short Go, Jami Garson closed out the event with the Short Go fast time of 2.76.
The Spring Thaw once again demonstrated the mission of the Cinch Breakaway Roping Championships — creating competitive opportunities for ropers of every level through a structured classification system.
