Day 1 Results from Loveland as Spring Thaw Continues

The Cinch Breakaway Roping Championships Spring Thaw kicked off in Loveland, Colorado, and we’re bringing you Day 1 results straight from the arena.
While the weekend is just getting started, competitors were already cashing checks, winning buckles and laying down fast runs as the first day of roping wrapped up. With another full day of competition still ahead, there’s plenty left to rope for at the Spring Thaw.
Here’s a look at the Day 1 winners and fast times.
Total Feeds Open
Taya McAdow claimed the win in the Total Feeds Open, finishing with a 12.37 on three head to earn $1,465.
Whitney Lee followed closely behind, placing second with a 12.59 on three to take home $975.

Round 1: Taya McAdow – 3.90
Round 2: Jessie Miller – 3.62
Short Go: Jami Garson – 3.03
#5 Cinch Slide
The #5 CINCH Slide championship belonged to Jami Garson, who roped her way to the top of the average to earn $1,600.

Round 1: Kaitlynn Idler – 2.48
Round 2: Jami Garson – 1.43
Short Go: Jami Garson – 2.90
Youth 12 and Under Breakaway
Willow Oliverius added another buckle to her day by winning the Youth 12 & Under Breakaway and earning $120.
#1 Smarty Shootout (Sled)
Willow Oliverius dominated the #1 Smarty Rodeo Shootout, finishing with a 13.06 on three to claim the buckle.
She also set the pace throughout the roping, turning in the fastest runs in each round.
Round 1: Willow Oliverius - 4.57
Round 2: Willow Oliverius - 3.55
Round 3: Willow Oliverius - 4.03
#2 American Hat Shootout
The #2 American Hat Company Shootout was claimed by Kashlyn Gordanier, who posted an 11.74 on three to win $380.
Close behind, Morgan Britton finished second in the average with a 12.44 on three, adding $250.
Fast times included:
Round 1: Morgan Britton – 3.28
Round 2: Kashlyn Gordanier – 3.59
Short Go: Kashlyn Gordanier – 3.82
#3 Priefert HC
Dot Veatch topped the #3 Priefert HC, finishing with a 17.93 on three head to win $730.
Kristi Breickler followed in second with a 21.55 on three.
Fast runs included:
Round 1: Dot Veatch – 2.30
Round 2: Brooke Berumen – 2.50
Short Go: Morgan Britton – 2.75
